The largest fish tank in the Czech Republic
A giant fish tank, the largest in the Czech Republic, was open on September 2005. We are talking about a fish tank with a volume of 100 thousand liters of seawater, the vitrified face amounts 8 meters. The inside of the tank, decorated with coral stones with a mass of 4.5 tons, for the production of the seawater was needed 3 tons of sea salt. The tank is using the most up to date filter systems, which filters 60 thousand liters of water in an hour; the filter pumps are regulated by microprocessors giving the possibility of a most perfect assimilation with the natural sea water flow. A perfect special illumination replaces the natural sunshine by day and the moonlight by night. The total price of this tank reached 10 million Czech Koruna.
Alike interesting to the giant fish tank itself are its inhibitors. In this giant aquarium one of its non overlookable inhabitant is the so called Sand Shark (in Latin Odontaspis Taurus) appertaining to the most dreaded sea predators, and is the second between the largest killers after the white shark. The Sand Shark which can be admired in our Sea world, grows up to a length of 3.5 meters, and can arrive up to a weight of 180 Kilograms. Our exposed one was acquired to a price that was higher than 700 thousands Czech Koruna. A tank that reminds you to an Australian coral reef complemented with a multicolored shoal of coral fishes.
